ko samet is a lovely place and the main focus on near where we stayed was the silver sand resort where they have a bar and a dj the bar staff are lovely and there are plenty of places to sit and relax. At weekends though many people come from bangkok for the weekend to get away from the city and work. I was there on a weekend so I can't comment on how busy the week is but the weekend is really lively and fun.
