FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

What are these points all about?

At the moment Thailand Holidays is very young, volunteer run and we don't make any money from the website. Yet in the future we'd like to reward our best contributors with prizes like free trips and tours they can enjoy next time they go away. In the meantime points allow us to recognise the hard work our users have put into building this Thailand travel guide.

Can I promote my blog on Thailand Holidays?

If you have a blog about Thailand, travelling or South East Asia in general you are more than welcome to link to it from your profile. This is linked to from every tip or article you create, helping build your reputation both on the site and offline.
The more tips you add to Thailand Holidays the more exposure your blog will get, but be aware that you are most likely to see the benefits if the tips you submit are high quality and adding value for our visitors - please be aware that tips we see as 'spammy' may be removed without warning.

I run a restaurant, bar or guesthouse - can I add myself?

We do allow some small businesses to submit their own listings, but on the condition that the descriptions they write are factual, not opinion. For example this is OK:

Noodleshack - Selling a wide range of Thai food as well as noodles from Japan, Vietnam and China

..and this is not:

Noodleshack - For the best noodles in all Bangkok come to Noodleshack, its an experience you won't forget!

Please just give us the facts and leave reviews of your business to other users to maintain impartiality - offenders will be removed and banned.

I run a tour company/guide service, can I add myself?

At present we are not accepting listings of tour companies, but there may be the opportunity to advertise your services in the future. In the meantime you are welcome to add your website and a company description to your profile, and by sharing your experience of the best places to visit in Thailand you can gain exposure across the website.
